Where churches ring of Pablo
And beer halls smell of pink and yellow Vincents
I find my way beyond the still of life
And stare at the short-haired nymphet
Who nightly sips her gimlets
I am caught

Lost in a swirling dizzy sky
I am exquisitely distraught
Her lover beckons with
Splashes and gashes
And he captures her
In a cyclone of madness
Makes me long, in my sweet insecurity,
For a gentle pastoral or hallowed renaissance
But no fair maidens with tilted, haloed crowns

I am exquisitely distraught
Through the door gamely
On into rapture
Where her very gaze arrests
The poet swoons to be near her

Just for a glimpse of the light that incites the Wild Blue
