lyrics
The Path
The days are slowing, and with them too
I feel a peaceful place
I’ve lived a lifetime, I’ve seen them come, I’ve seen them go
Before my waking eyes
Old wind is blowing and with it too
I’ve traveled far the stony path
I’ve seen some sorrow and I’ve learned patience
And I have seen amazing faces
And in the end
I wouldn’t trade this life for a silver spoon
I wouldn’t take the other road
I wouldn’t live my life any other way
I’d gladly take another’s load
For that’s the path I’ve come to know
I asked an angel what was in store for me
What was my path
She gave a whisper, she said the road you take will be rough
And on the way you’ll find
You’ll meet with blizzards, you’ll meet with rains
But don’t you worry, you’ll see the sunlight again
It seems to work that way
The pain we conquer, the hills we climb
The roads we travel, well they’re tough sometimes
But in the end
I wouldn’t trade this life for a silver spoon
I wouldn’t take the other road
I wouldn’t live my life any other way
I’d gladly take another’s load
For that’s the path I’ve come to know
Aim your hope right up to the sky that
Our world will survive
And don’t be afraid to live for today
And love in a way that sees our world in splendor
I wouldn’t trade this life for a silver spoon
I wouldn’t take the other road
I wouldn’t live my life any other way
I’d gladly take another’s load
For that’s the path I’ve come to know
